Captain Bob's Bio:

After retiring from the Bass Tournament fishing Trial, Captain Bob Troxel founded Bob Troxel's Guide Service in 1991, The creation of this Lake Erie Smallmouth and Walleye Charters & Guide service was the result of spending countless hours fishing Lake Erie's Western Basin in search of the Bronzeback during tournaments. He realized Lake Erie had an incredible Smallmouth Bass population. He found it was not uncommon to catch 50 to 100 fish during a fishing day. Many of these fish were trophy class Smallies. Captain Bob enjoys sharing his knowledge with his clients and teaching children basic fishing techniques. He specializes in Smallmouth Bass fishing and prides himself in locating isolated areas which hold the larger fish.

Captain Bob uses both artificial and live bait. He will instruct you in the latest techniques in smallmouth bass location, lure selection, presentation, depth determination, and boat positioning. He will gladly help tournament fisherman during pre fishing and provide GPS information on location of humps, shoals, points and other fish holding structure.

Captain Bob has been featured in many magazines, radio shows and books, he has participated in many instructional seminars.

Renowned outdoor writer Mark Hicks states "Captain Bob Troxel is a versatile Western Basin Guide". Captain Bob and his Lake Erie Charter service has been featured in both the Lake Erie Smallmouth book and the Lake Erie Walleye book.
